Computational Intelligence Laboratory
(CIL)
The computational Intelligence Laboratory (CIL, pronounces sill)
aims to provide a forum for the
group of people in the University of Lincoln, who are sharing common interests in
biological neural systems and computational intelligence, to come together and exchange ideas.
CIL is seeking deep understanding of biological, neural systems and unique solutions
for real world challenges. CIL prefers interdisciplinary innovative thinking and multidisciplinary approaches.
CIL has been formed gradually via running a MSc project (2008) and the DiPP project (2009-2010) to its current status.
The group was renamed to CIL in 2010 and officially recognized in 2011.
Although CIL is hosted mainly in School of Computer Science, many of its memebers are from other schools or colleges.
Naturally, most of its members are also active in other groups, other schools or colleges.
CIL currently has 29 members at the moment, including 7 academic staff, 22 research fellows, visiting scholar,
research students and research assistants.
CIL staff have secured more than three million pounds of research funding
from different funding bodies recently.
